PROJECTS 2019

Completion of Barrolka Nodal Compression Facility for Santos

October 2019 – Spiecapag Wasco Joint Venture (SWJV) has completed construction and commissioning of the new Barrolka Nodal Compression Facility for Santos in SW Queensland. The project involved disassembly, relocation, installation and reassembly of a Waukesha / Ariel reciprocating gas compressor skid from Ballera Gas Centre to Barrolka Field Manifold (approx. 85km) where it was installed on steel driven piles along with new balance of plant separator skid, gas powered generator (relocated from another facility in SWQ) fuel gas, piping, supports and E&I equipment. The project featured steel driven piles and precast concrete only meaning no concrete was required to be made at the site. The new facility was commissioned in October 2019

Armour Energy - Myall Creek and Horseshoe Connections

October 2019 – Armour awarded Wasco a contract to fabricate and construct facilities associated with it’s expanding well portfolio in the Kincora system. Flowlines and end of line facilitities associated with Myall Creek North 1 and Horseshoe 4 wells are included in the work scope. Work is scheduled to be completed by December 2019.

Cooper Basin Oil and Gas Flowlines and Facilities

In October 2019 Santos awarded a contract to Wasco and partner Spiecapag Australia (SWJV) to construct a series of oil and gas flowlines and associated lease facilities in SW Queensland Cooper Basin. The project scope includes a total of 22km DN100 Steel gas Pipelines, 11 Gas Well Lease Facilities, 11km steel and GRE oil pipelines and 6 beam pump oil facilities. SWJV mobilized within 2 weeks of award from Brisbane, Toowoomba and Roma. Work is scheduled to be completed in March 2020.

Senex Energy– Roma North Export Project - Compression Facility & Pipeline

In May 2019 Wasco reached Mechanical Completion of new gas compression, pipeline and end of line facilities for Senex Energy at its Roma North Project. Wasco's scope included offsite fabrication and assembly of pre-assembled pipe racks and process skids and complete civil, pipeline, structural, mechanical, electrical, control and communications installation. The project featured steel pile foundations, with minimal concrete structures and drop in pre-assembled racks and skids. The compression facility and pipeline feature Gas Engine driven skid mounted gas compressors, tri-ethylene glycol dehydration, fuel gas, flare, water treatment, skid mounted switchroom, power generation, plant air, gas inlet PE slug catcher, outlet metering and export facility, 5km DN200 class 1500 steel gas pipeline and end of line custody transfer facility. With delivery of these facilities Wasco has completed at Roma North a 35 gas well gathering system, compression and high pressure export facilities to Senex Energy.

Dension Gas – Asset Inspection and Restart Services

Denison Gas acquired existing natural gas assets in the Denison trough region of the Surat Basin in 2019. Wasco was engaged to assist Denison in assessment of assets ahead of restart at Rolleston, Springton, Yandina and Arcturus. The first stage involves careful field inspection of pipe work, valves, control systems, vessels, electrical systems and rotating equipment. Wasco is also providing Denison with rotating equipment components.

Central Petroleum – Palm Valley 13 Flowline and Facilities

In April 2019 Wasco mobilised a small team to Palm Valley to install 850m DN150 steel Gas Flowline for Central Petroleum. The flowline was placed above grade on steel pipe supports anchored to the bed rock beneath using a combination of innovative design and Wasco's rock drill equipment. The project also featured fabrication and installation of pipe spooling and supports as well as relocation and installation of well site facilities. This project was a challenging assignment that required careful planning and execution and the skills of experienced steel flowline welding, field bending and fitting personnel.

Santos - Coonaberry Gas Compression Project

Wasco Australia and Spiecapag Australia (SWJV) teamed up to deliver this project for Santos in early 2019. Two gas engine driven reciprocating gas compressors and associated equipment were dismantled at Chookoo, near Naccowlah South West Queensland and relocated to Coonaberry on the eastern bank of Cooper Creek. At Coonaberry the gas compressors and balance of new and relocated equipment were reinstalled and commissioned. The team on this project featured gas compression, piping and electrical personnel with the experience to complete the task in a remote location. The work was completed safely and on time.

Armour Energy - Myall Creek 5A Flowline and Well Site Facilities

In May 2019 Wasco completed installation and testing of Armour Energy's second expansion well at Myall Creek. Myall Creek 5A flowline is a 1.6km DN100 steel Gas Flowline. Scope included supply, fabrication, installation and testing.
