We implement best-practice Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management systems that support our business in delivering projects safely, to a high standard and without harm to the environment. We aim for continual improvement in all that we do and are focused on ensuring our business systems continually evolve to support the sustainable growth of our business.

We hold the following third party accreditations for Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) through SAI Global:

Our management is committed to providing and maintaining a safe work site for employees, subcontractors and others affected by our work. We believe that all accidents are preventable and foster a culture of ZERO HARM.

Wasco Australia Pty Ltd is an EPC contractor that provides engineering, design, procurement, fabrication,installation, testing, commissioning, operations support, maintenance, and component supply of oil, gas, energy and related surface facilities.

Wasco Australia is committed to achieving the requirements set out in AS/NZS ISO 9001 and continually improving our services, systems and processes. This will be accomplished by:

The establishment and implementation of the Integrated Management System (IMS) framework and associated documentation aimed at satisfying, AS/NZS ISO 14001, AS/NZS 4801, AS/NZS ISO 9001, and Client requirements; and the company’s goals and objectives.

Responsibilities being clearly defined, structured, accomplished and verified.

All personnel working within the framework of the quality management system.

The system being constantly monitored by review and auditing; and continuously improved.

Reviewing and updating this policy to ensure it remains relevant to our business.

This quality policy being communicated and understood throughout the organisation.

Developing the skills and competencies of our personnel to improve company performance and delivery capability.

Ensuring Client satisfaction both during and after delivery.

The development, implementation and continual review of management plans and procedures designed to meet the varied needs of our Clients and;

Setting measurable, realistic objectives and targets and reporting on progress towards their achievement.

Every person working for Wasco is responsible for ensuring that health and safety is managed in their respective work areas.

Establish and maintain a functional HSE management system.

Systematically manage its operating activities to continuously review health and safety hazards and reduce risk.

Establish measurable objectives and targets to ensure continual improvement aimed at the prevention of work related injury and illness.

Ensure all personnel have the necessary training to perform their tasks safely.

Consult, listen and respond openly to its employees, contractors and customers to ensure the input of all stakeholders are included in the decision-making processes impacting workplace health and safety.

Ensure that Leadership takes immediate action to remove workplace hazards when identified and reported.

Comply with all relevant Legislation and standards as a minimum, and ensure employees are provided with information, instruction and training to be able to comply with those requirements.

Develop and implement training programs to improve health and safety skills, and promote a positive workplace health and safety culture.

Provide employees with appropriate equipment and facilities to conduct their duties in a professional and safe manner.

Ensure this policy remains relevant and appropriate to Wasco by periodic review in line with Management review procedures.


Are required to take reasonable care to ensure their own health and safety, and the health and safety of other workers, who may be affected by their acts or omissions.

Shall follow the Wasco Non-Compromising Rules.

Are required to adopt safe work practices and comply with all health and safety policies and procedures.

Must report all hazards, incidents and near misses immediately.

Have responsibility and authority to refuse or stop work if there is any question of safety or operational risk.


Ensure, insofar as reasonably practicable, the health and safety at work, of all workers under their supervision and direction.

Actively promote a positive workplace health and safety culture.

Wasco is committed to a policy of providing high quality services in a manner which will protect and improve the environment. We will work closely with our clients, contractors, the community, industry and the State and Federal Governmentsto establish the procedures by which our staff can make a positive contribution towards innovative and cost-effective environmental outcomes. Responsible management of environmental issues is an essential part of achieving our business objectives.

Accordingly, we are committed to conducting our activities in ways which will:

Continually improve our awareness and management of environmental risks and avoid, reduce and control pollution from our operations.

Promote the open exchange of environmental information with our customers, suppliers and the community to improve environmental awareness and to obtain feedback on our environmental performance.

Identify and comply with environmental legislation, regulation and licence standards for all our operations and environmentally relevant activities; and

Promote waste minimisation, carbon reduction, and energy management within our day to day operations.

Wasco, through its management and staff, will ensure its operations comply with this policy by developing, implementing and maintain an Environmental Management System based on AS/NZS ISO 14001.

The Environmental Management System forms part of the Wasco Intergrated Management System and will:

Set a clear policy direction for environmental issues and objectives.

Establish systems for auditing monitoring and reporting performance; and

Identify and promptly resolve any non-conformance and document any necessary procedural changes.

Wasco believes that all incidents and injuries are preventable and that TARGET ZERO is an achievable goal. Wasco is committed to targeting zero lost time injuries (LTIs) and zero medically treated injuries (MTIs) in the workplace. The TARGET ZERO goal will be achieved by using Wasco’s safety management system, ensuring all employees and sub-contractors are competent and trained for their assigned tasks and adopting a management led proactive culture that encourages feedback and discussion to facilitate continuous improvement to safety performance.

Launched in 2014, the Wasco CARE program was founded around the company’s Incident and Injury-Free culture. To date, we are constantly pursuing innovative and more efficient means to improve and enhance our safety procedures.

We believe those who would know best are our plant and facility workers. And CARE serves as an open channel for them to contribute and share their thoughts and opinions on how we can better our benchmarks. Encouraging them to Communicate, Align, take Responsibility and make an Effort.
